A track for start-ups. The definition of a start-up for the purposes of this competition is: A growth-oriented company based on a technological idea. A company that advocates innovation – identifying innovative technological solutions for existing problems, which has existed for no more than five years and whose annual sales threshold does not exceed $20 million. The prize for the proposal selected by the judges at the second stage in this track is $50,000.
Companies which meet these definitions are invited to submit a proposal in this track. Alternatively, such companies may submit their proposal in the general track; but in such a case, they would not be able to submit their proposal in the start-up track, as every applicant or company may only submit one proposal.
The start-up track is also being advertised as a track in the GESAwards competition. The tarboot competition holds full responsibility for this track.
